Ohana
Housing and sublease platform that changed how a generation of interns and young professionals find a place to live.
I joined Ohana as the first full-time employee after they processed their first $1.5M in rent. Over two years we scaled to 100,000+ users, processed $40M+ in rent, and built partnerships with OpenAI, Oracle, Palantir, Rivian, Snapchat, Plaid, Morgan Stanley, Paramount, Barclays, and MongoDB.
What I built
- Built the listings search map - seen by 1.5 million+ unique visitors
- Designed and shipped the full search page and listings flow
- Built the property manager CRM used to onboard and track all inventory
- Engineered the partnership portal used by OpenAI, Oracle, Palantir, and others to track intern housing
- Created community SEO pages that drove a 10% lift in company-wide organic traffic
- Built city SEO pages that drove another 10% lift in organic traffic
- Built neighborhood SEO pages contributing a further 5% traffic increase
- Developed internal moderation tools for Instagram, Facebook Groups, and TikTok
- Built and maintained live chat, internal tooling, and the full landing page
